The Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) is surrounded by the rich woods. It opened in December 2001 aiming at the place of new creation where nature and art live together. At this institution, twice a year -- spring and autumn, we have an 'Artist-in-Residence' (AIR) program system that invites artists to reside in Aomori, and produce works. We aim at offering the opportunity of various appreciation of art, the exchange activities with artists and citizen, and making the original art culture of Aomori-City.
In the Autumn AIR program, we invite artists who play active part in the contemporary art field from all applicants. We support the residence work and holding the exhibition. At the same time, we set up the workshop and lecture by artists for audience to play a part of help to understand art deeply and promote international exchange through art.
Invitation artists can receive the following support. Accommodation and studio (shared space) is provided artists for creative activities. The creative activities and mutual exchange will be a fruitful and productive experience for artist.
