1つの版を使って作品を2つ作ります。最初に1つの図柄で版を制作し刷った後に、同じ版を彫り進めて別の図柄に変容させてもう1度刷ることで、2つ目の作品を作ります。

Kazama made her first attempts at the horisusumi, or “progressive carving,” technique during this woodblock workshop. After carving and printing one pattern, she then elaborated on the same wood block, transforming the original pattern into something completely new. Participants were able to learn and experience the quirks of the horisusumi technique and make two separate artworks out of a single woodblock.
