青森公立大学 国際芸術センター青森 [ACAC] では、2024年4月から2025年3月にかけて、以下のスケジュールで展覧会、アーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラム等、多様なプログラムを開催します。2024年度は県内5館の美術館・アートセンターが連携する「AOMORI GOKAN アートフェス 2024」に、ACACも参加します。ダイナミックな自然環境を活かしたACACの活動を、どうぞお楽しみに！

展覧会「currents / undercurrents －いま、めくるめく流れは出会って」

「現在」という意味をもちながら、海流や気流をはじめとして、ある一定の方向に動く水や空気、電流などの変わり続ける流れを示す「current」と、表面や他の流れの下にある目に見え難い流れや暗示を意味する「undercurrent」をキーワードとして、ある場所とかかわり合いながら表現をつむぎ出す国内外のアーティスト、そして青森ゆかりの表現者たちによる作品が集います。前期と後期の出展作家は同じですが、会期半ばで展示替えをし、異なる2 つの展覧会を行うことで、一回限りでない場所への働きかけや、変化し続ける「いま」をこの場に取り込むことを試みます。それぞれの表現が発生させる流れや渦のようなものが、出会い交差することで、また新たな流れや渦を無数に生成させていく…実験的なアプローチを通して、私たちの現在地を問う企画です。

アーティスト・イン・レジデンス プログラム2024「SPINNING SCAPES」

現代美術のアーティストはもちろん、キュレーター、リサーチャー等の文化芸術活動を行う方を対象として、展覧会、パフォーマンス、ワークショップ、トーク等の活動を、企画段階から、リサーチ、設営、発表の実施、カタログでの記録までACACが全面的に協働する公募によるアーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムです。

Aomori Contemporary Art Centre, Aomori Public University [ACAC] will hold various programs including exhibitions and artist-in-residence program from April 2024 to March 2025 according to the following schedule. ACAC is also participating in the “AOMORI GOKAN Arts Fest 2024,” a collaboration of five museums and art centers in the prefecture. Please look forward to ACAC’s activities that take advantage of the dynamic natural environment!

Exhibition “currents / undercurrents －Bringing together the endless flow“

The keyword is “current,” which means “present,” but also refers to the ever-changing flow of water, air, and electric currents that move in a certain direction, such as ocean currents and air currents, and “undercurrent,” which means an invisible current or implication that lies beneath the surface or other currents. The works of artists from Japan and abroad, as well as Aomori-related artists, will be exhibited. Although the exhibiting artists for the early and latter periods will be the same, the exhibition will be changed midway through the term, and by presenting two different exhibitions, we will attempt to incorporate the “now” into the exhibition space, which will not be a one-time event, but rather an approach to the place and the ever-changing “now”. The currents and vortexes generated by each expression will meet and intersect to generate countless new currents and vortexes… This is a project that questions our current location through an experimental approach.

Artist-in-Residence Program 2024 “SPINNING SCAPES”

This is an artist-in-residence program for contemporary artists as well as curators, researchers and others involved in cultural and artistic activities. ACAC provides full support from the planning stage of exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks, and other activities including research, set-up, presentation and catalog documentation.
