Ishikura collaborates with artists on creative projects based on field research he conducts throughout Japan and Asia. His research in mythology and art anthropology is concerned with themes of coexistence and symbiosis between human and non-human entities. In 2019, he participated in the “Cosmo-Eggs” exhibition at the Japan Pavilion of the 58th Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition.
