2024年4月1日より、青森公立大学 国際芸術センター青森 [ACAC] 館長として服部浩之氏（キュレーター、東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科メディア映像専攻准教授）が就任することとなりました。ACACは、服部新館長とともにこれからも、多様な表現の実験場として、国内外のアーティストをはじめとする表現者たち、そして地域住民や学生をはじめとする人びとが集い、創造的なネットワークが地域内外へと波及する「中心（センター）」となることを目指してまいります。

Aomori Contemporary Art Centre, Aomori Public University will be headed by HATTORI Hiroyuki who is a curator and an associate professor in the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts, as of April 1, 2024. ACAC will continue to serve as a “center” where various artists from Japan and overseas, local residents, students and other people gather, and creative networks spread throughout the region and beyond.

【館長就任にあたって】

2001年に開館した国際芸術センター青森は、2009年以降は青森公立大学の施設として、アーティスト・イン・レジデンスを中心に置き、教育研究と国際交流や地域文化交流、人材育成を推進し幅広いプログラムを展開してきました。滞在制作を経験したたくさんのアーティストが国際的に活躍するACACは、唯一無二のアートセンターとして重要な役割を担っていると思います。私にとってACACは30代の6年半を学芸員として勤務し、様々なことを学び経験した大切な場所です。青森という土地やここで暮らす人に色々な刺激を受け、世界の見え方が大きく変わりました。青森県は多彩な芸術文化機関がある現代芸術シーンを牽引する地域です。お隣秋田県の秋田公立美術大学にいたときは、青森の多彩な芸術シーンを非常に眩しく感じ、学生たちと度々青森を訪れていました。今回、国際芸術センター青森 [ACAC] の館長として再び青森という地域に関わり、そのアートシーンに参加できることを大変光栄に感じています。青森の芸術文化を多くの人と一緒に築き、新しい表現を世に送り出していくことに貢献していきたいです。（服部浩之）

Opened in 2001, and operated by Aomori Public University since 2009, Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) has developed a wide range of programs promoting education and research, international and regional exchange, and human resources development, with a focus on artist-in-residence programs. I believe this truly unique art center has served an important role for many artists who have used their residency experience here as a springboard to international success. ACAC has also been a big part of my life, providing me with many learning experiences when I worked here as a curator for over 6 years in my 30s. This land called Aomori and the people who live here have provided me with much inspiration, and have completely changed the way that I see the world. The Prefecture is at the forefront of the contemporary art scene, boasting a variety of artistic and cultural institutions. When I taught at Akita University of Art in neighboring Akita Prefecture, I was dazzled by the diversity of the Aomori art scene, and frequently brought my students here. Now, as ACAC’s director, I feel honored to return and be a part of this land and its art scene. I look forward to working alongside many others to help build up the art and culture of Aomori, and bring new forms of artistic expression into the world. (Hattori Hiroyuki)

【服部浩之プロフィール】

キュレーター。2006年、早稲田大学大学院修了（建築学）。2006年より秋吉台国際芸術村に3年半、国際芸術センター青森に6年半勤務し、約10年間アーティスト・イン・レジデンスを中心に、展覧会やアートプロジェクトの企画運営に従事する。2017年より秋田公立美術大学美術学部アーツ＆ルーツ専攻・大学院複合芸術研究科准教授、2021年より現在まで東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科メディア映像専攻准教授。アートセンターや教育機関を軸とし、公共性・コモンズ・横断性などをキーワードに様々な表現者との協働を軸にしたプロジェクトを展開。近年携わった企画に、アートサイト名古屋城2023「想像の復元」（2023年、名古屋城）、「200年をたがやす」（2021年、秋田市文化創造館）、第58回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ国際美術展日本館展示「Cosmo-Eggs|宇宙の卵」（2019年）、「近くへの遠回り」（2018年、ウィフレッド・ラム現代美術センター）、あいちトリエンナーレ2016「虹のキャラバンサライ 創造する人間の旅」（2016年、愛知県美術館ほか）など。

Curator. Master of Architecture, Waseda University (2006). From 2006, he spent roughly the next 10 years planning and organizing exhibitions and art projects at Akiyoshidai International Art Village (Yamaguchi Pref.; 3.5 yrs), and Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (6 yrs), mainly for each institution’s artist-in-residence programs. From 2017 to 2021, he taught at Akita University of Art as an associate professor in the Arts & Roots program of the Faculty of Art, as well as in the Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Arts. Since 2021, he has been teaching at Tokyo University of the Arts as an associate professor in the Graduate School of Film and New Media. Working mainly through art centers and educational institutions, his practice focuses on collaborative projects with various artists, exploring key concepts such as publicness, the commons, and transversality. His most recent projects include: Art Site in Nagoya Castle: Imaginary fragments make form (2023; Nagoya Castle) / Cultivating Successive Wisdoms (2021; Akita Cultural Creation Center, Akita City) / “Cosmo-Eggs,” 58th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia (2019; Japan Pavilion, Venice) / Going Away Closer (2018; Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam, Havana) / “Homo Faber: A Rainbow Caravan,” Aichi Triennale 2016 (2016; Various locations in Aichi Pref.).
