Jasmine TOGO-BRISBY
ウェリントン（ニュージーランド）を拠点に活動。マッセー大学（ニュージーランド）およびグリフィス大学（オーストラリア）卒業。オーストラリア南海に浮かぶ島の第4世代であり、曽曽祖父母は幼少時にバヌアツから移住させられ、オーストラリアのサトウキビ農園
で働いた。太平洋の奴隷貿易「ブラックバーディング」の歴史的慣習と、その現代への影響を調べ、作品として発表している。

Based in Wellington, New Zealand. Graduated from Massey University and Griffith University in 2017. Togo-Brisby is a fourth-generation Australian South Sea Islander, whose great-great-grandparents were taken from Vanuatu as children and put to work on an Australian sugarcane plantation. Her research examines the historical practice of ‘blackbirding’ as the Pacific slave trade, and its contemporary legacy and impact
through the slave-diaspora.
