As one of the opportunities to present the outcomes of the Artist in Residence Program 2026 “EAT,” we will hold an exhibition featuring works by the participating artists.
This year, as a new initiative, we introduced a “Creator framework” alongside a newly established “Mediator framework.” The Creators focus on research, artistic production during the residency, and the presentation of its outcomes. The Mediator engages in research through dialogue and collaboration with local residents and participants in the Creator framework.
This year’s AIR program took “EAT” as its theme, using the act of eating —an activity open not only to humans but to all forms of life— as a starting point for reconsidering our relationships with other species and the environment.
Through their stays in Aomori, how did the four participants approach the theme of “EAT,” and what kinds of relationships did they discover through it? This exhibition presents the outcomes of the residencies by the three artists selected for the Creator framework.
We look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition.
The flyer is available here.
Prior to the exhibition opening to the general public, we will hold a press preview and opening reception.
To help ensure smooth operation, we kindly ask those wishing to attend to register in advance.
