Energies in the Rural 2022 Remote Residence Program

エナジー・イン・ルーラル2022年の取り組みとして、イタリア人アーティストのニコラ・ディ・クローチェとキュレーターでインテルゾーナ代表のレアンドロ・ピサノがACACでリモートレジデンスを展開します。

地方都市におけるエネルギーというと、人のパワーや農漁業、電力供給などが思い浮かびます。ディ・クローチェは、原子力、自然エネルギー、核融合など、研究開発・電力供給の一大拠点である青森の特性、特に地域と産業との長い関係に関心を寄せています。経済的や政治的側面だけでなく、個人や地域の記憶や日常といった点においても両者がどのように関係しているのか、音を通して考察していきます。

また、青森の歴史、文化、記憶をどのように掘り起こすか、ピサノのサポートを受けながらリサーチを進めていきます。本年度のEIRの他のイベントにも参加する予定です。

  • ニコラ・ディ・クローチェ
    Nicola Di Croce

    建築家、ミュージシャン、サウンドアーティスト、学者。都市計画およ び公共政策の博士号を有し、現在Iuav University of Venice（イタリア）のリサーチフェローを務める。彼のリサーチは都市研究と音響研 究にまたがり、都市政策分析への協働的・参画的なアプローチ、そして都市計画、都市社会学、サウンドアートの内に現れる方法論のデ ザインに特に関心を寄せている。都市部と、人口減少や分離、地域アイデンティティの喪失といった、文化的変容からの影響を受けやすい地域の調査にとってクリティカル・リスニングが重要なツールであるという意図から、作品制作と研究の中心にサウンドを置き活動する。ディ・クローチェは、論考や講義、作曲、パフォーマンスやインスタレーションを通して、都市の再建や参画的プロセス、地域の発展のための新たな可能性を模索しながら、音への意識を高めること、地方のコミュニティや公共施設を後押しすることを目指している。

  • レアンドロ・ピサノ
    Leandro Pisano

    キュレーター、ライター、研究者。アート、サウンド、テクノカルチャー の相互作用に関心を持ち、特に農村地域、辺境地域、遠隔地の政治的エコロジーを研究している。Interferenze new arts festival（2003） の創設者兼ディレクターであり、Mediaterrae Vol.1（2007）、Barsento Mediascape（2013）、Liminaria（2014–18）などの電子・音響芸術の プロジェクトに多く携わる。主な展覧会に、「Otros sonidos, otros paisajes」（MACRO Museum – Rome、イタリア、2017）、「Alteridades de lo invisible」（Festival Tsonami、Valparaíso、チリ、2018）、「Manifesto of Rural Futurism」（イタリア文化会館メルボルン、オーストラリア、2019）等がある。その他、世界数カ国にまたがり、大学や、ニューメディアの美学、デザイン、サウンド・地域再生プロセスに関するイベントにおいて、プレゼンテーション、カンファレンス、ワークショップ を実施。『Corriere della Sera – La Lettura』、『Blow-Up』、『Doppiozero 』、『Neural』、『Exibart』、『Nero Magazin』など、複数の雑誌に記事を執筆している。著書に『Nuove geografie del suono. As a part of the Energies in the Rural project in 2022, Italian artist Nicola Di Croce and Curator Leandro Pisano participates in remote residency of ACAC.

Speaking of energies in rural areas, one might remember human resource and agriculture and fishing industry, and electricity supply. Di Croce is interested in characteristics of Aomori as big base for research and development, and/or electricity supply, such as nuclear power, natural energy and nuclear fusion, particular in the long relationship between the local and the industries. Through sounds as critic device, he will proceed his artistic research about how both have influences in private/local memories and life aspects economic and politic.

During his research, Pisano engages to supports him to think how to dive into the history, culture and memories in Aomori. They will also participate in other events in this year of EIR.

  • Nicola Di Croce

    Nicola Di Croce is an architect, musician, sound artist, and scholar. He has a PhD in Regional planning and public policies, and he’s currently Postdoctoral research fellow at Iuav University of Venice, Italy. His research deals with the relationship between Urban Studies and Sound Studies. In particular, he’s interested in collaborative and participatory approach to urban policy analysis and design through methodologies emerging within Urban Planning, Urban Sociology and Sound Art practice. Sound is central to Di Croce’s artistic and academic practice, as he intends critical listening a pivotal tool for the investigation of urban and cultural transformations aecting particularly vulnerable areas, such as depopulation, segregation and loss of local identities. Through articles, lectures, compositions, performances, and installations Di Croce aims to foster sonic awareness and to empower institutions and local communities, exploring new potentials for urban regeneration, participatory processes and local development.

  • Leandro Pisano

    Leandro Pisano is a curator, writer and independent researcher who is interested in intersections between art, sound and technoculture. The specific area of his research deals with political ecology of rural, marginal and remote territories. He is founder and director of Interferenze new arts festival (2003) and frequently he is involved in projects on electronic and sound art, including Mediaterrae Vol.1 (2007), Barsento Mediascape (2013) and Liminaria (2014‒18). Among the sonic arts exhibitions he has curated, there are”Otros sonidos, otros paisajes” (MACRO Museum–Rome, Italy, 2017), “Alteridades de lo invisible” (Festival Tsonami, Valparaíso, Chile, 2018) and“ Manifesto of Rural Futurism” (Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne, Australia, 2019). He conducted presentations, conferences and workshops in dierent universities or during events related with new media aesthetics, design, sound and territorial regeneration processes in several countries worldwide. He has written articles in several magazines, such as“ Corriere della Sera –La Lettura”“, Blow-Up”“, Doppiozero”“, Neural, Exibart” and “Nero Magazine”. He is author of the book“ Nuove geografie del suono. Spazi e territori nell’epoca postdigitale”, published in Milan by Meltemi (2017). Leandro Pisano holds a PhD in Cultural and Post-Colonial Studies from University of Naples“ L’Orientale”and he is presently Honorary Research Fellow in Anglo-American Literature at University of Urbino“ Carlo Bo”
