TSUDA Michiko’s workshop “Audio Guide #4: Standing Here, Aomori Version” was held as part of the Creative Commons vol. 6 “Open-Air Sculpture as Surface/Strata Project 2022.” We are now distributing the “Aomori City Open-Air Sculpture Map “Audio Guide: Standing Here, Aomori Version”, which was created through this workshop. This audio guide was created by Tsuda Michiko and people from Aomori City and students interested in open-air sculpture and audio guide production over a period of about one year from March, 2022. Ms. Tsuda is an artist who creates works using audio guides as a device to change the way we see the scenery and objects that unfold before our eyes by listening to audio while viewing the scenery. If you find an open-air sculpture on this map that attracts you, please visit the site. While looking at the scenery in front of you, you can listen to the audio by reading each QR code with your smartphone or other device and clicking on the link (Vimeo). In the audio, you will be able to listen to the memories and explanations of the open-air sculptures and other “standing here” sculptures. You can listen to it from anywhere, or listen to just one, or take this map with you to all of them. What is the “standing here” have been selected from the perspective of each person who lives in this city. While the accuracy of the information is of course important, we hope that by listening to the real voices of how these sculptures, which are a part of our daily lives, are being felt, you will enjoy how various people continue to “rebuild” the landscape of this city.
