アーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラム2021「invisible connections」関連イベントとして、昨年度のACACのレジデンスプログラム「OPEN CALL: CALL for OPEN」で「HOMONYM」プロジェクトを実施したウリヤナ・ポドコリトヴァさんのアーティストトークを開催します。今回は、「HOMONYM」や、現在取り組み、モスクワのGES-2での展覧会「When Gondola Engines Were Taken to Bits」にも出品している「Tamotka」を中心に制作についてお話いただきます。
後半には「invisible connections」参加アーティスト内田聖良さんをお招きして、インターネットフォークロア、声、コミュニケーションなどをキーワードに、作品に民話の要素を参照する、お二人の共通点や相違点についてのディスカッションも予定しています。

    1984年ロシア連邦モスクワ生まれ、The Rodchenko Art School（モスクワ）を卒業。 内なる・個人的な神話、疑似伝承に関わる、グローバリゼーションにおけるアイデンティティの喪失について問うべく、ビデオ、音声パフォーマンス、絵画作品を制作する。 近年の個展に「Ray’ok」（マルチメディア美術館、モスクワ、2020年)他。

    UCHIDA Seira

    埼玉生まれ、青森拠点。情報科学芸術大学院大学 [IAMAS]卒業。コンセプチュアルパフォーマンス・アーティスト、リサーチャーであり、自身をポスト・インターネット時代のベンダー（Bender）と称する。AmazonやYouTubeなど既存のシステムを用いながら、それら回路の秩序を変容させてしまうようなアプローチを行い、日常生活に浸透する価値観や与えられた使用法に問いを投げかけている。主な展覧会やプロジェクトに、2020年〜「TRANS BOOKS DOWNLOADs」（オンライン）、2019年「SICF19 Winners Exhibition」（スパイラルホール、東京）など。デザイナー清水都花との「凡人ユニット」としても活動。

Upcoming event for “invisible connections”, ACAC artist-in-residence program
Uliyana PODKORYTOVA Artist Talk on Jan. 23

We are pleased to present an artist talk by Ulyana Podkorytova, who carried out the “HOMONYM” project in ACAC’s residency program “OPEN CALL: CALL for OPEN” in 2020. In this talk, she will talk about her work, focusing on “HOMONYM”and “Tamotka”(2021, GES-2, Moscow)
She will invite Seira Uchida, a participating artist in “invisible connections”, for a discussion.
In the second half of the session, we will have a discussion with Seira Uchida, an artist participating in the “invisible connections” project. We will talk about the similarities and differences between the two artists, who refer to elements of folktales in their works with keywords such as Internet folklore, voice, and communication.

    Podkorytova is a Russian Federation native participating remotely from Moscow(b. 1984) and a graduate of The Rodchenko Art School (Moscow). Through the field of inner/personal mythology and pseudo-folklore, she addresses the loss of identity in the face of globalization. The fruits of which can be seen encapsulated on video, voice performance and painting. Her recent exhibitions, among others, include “Ray’ok”(Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, 2020).

  • UCHIDA Seira

    Born in Saitama, now based in Aomori, Japan​​. UCHIDA graduated from the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences [IAMAS]. Uchida is a conceptual performance artist and researcher who calls herself a “Bender” for the post-Internet era. She uses existing systems such as Amazon and YouTube in an approach that transforms the order of these circuits and questions the values and given usages that permeate our daily lives. Her major exhibitions and projects include “TRANS BOOKS DOWNLOADs” (online) from 2020 and “SICF19 Winners Exhibition” (Spiral Hall, Tokyo) in 2019. She also works as an “ordinary person unit” with designer SHIMIZU Hiroka.
