アーティストの三原聡一郎、キュレーターの四方幸子がイタリアでのアーティストインレジデンスに参加します。土地のエネルギーに関するリサーチを中心に、三原聡一郎は約1か月間、四方幸子は約2週間の滞在を実施し、7月24日から30日に開催されるliminaria festival に参加します。

三原聡一郎は近年、風や空気の流れに関わる匂いの作品にも取り組んでいます。今回のイタリアでのレジデンスでは、くしくも収穫時期である現地の麦を中心にリサーチを行います。また《空気の研究》（2017）とともに、各滞在場所でのプレゼンテーションも予定されています。

    MIHARA Soichiro

    1980年東京生まれ、京都を拠点に活動中。世界に対して開かれたシ ステムを提示し、音、泡、放射線、虹、微生物、苔、気流、土そして電子など、物質や現象の「芸術」への読みかえを試みている。2011年より、テクノロジーと社会の関係性を考察するために空白をテーマにしたプロジェクトを国内外で展開中。2013年より滞在制作として北極圏から熱帯雨林、軍事境界からバイオアートラボまで、芸術の中心から 極限環境に至るまで、これまでに計8カ国12箇所を渡ってきた。 主な個展に「空白に満ちた世界」（クンストラウム・クロイツベルク／ベタニエン、ドイツ、2013／京都芸術センター、2016）、グループ展 に、第11回恵比寿映像祭（東京都写真美術館、2019）、札幌国際芸 術祭2014（芸術の森有島旧邸、2014）、「サウンドアート芸術の方法 としての音」（ZKM、ドイツ、2012）など。展覧会キュレーションに 「空白より感得する」（瑞雲庵、2018）。共著に『触楽入門』（朝日出版 社、2016）。アルス・エレクトロニカ、トランスメディアーレ、文化庁 メディア芸術祭、他で受賞。プリアルスエレクトロニカ2019審査員。 NISSAN ART AWARD 2020ファイナリスト。2022年よりイベント「3 月11日に波に乗ろう」を共同主催。また、方法論の確立していない 音響彫刻やメディアアート作品の保存修復にも近年携わっている。

    SHIKATA Yukiko

    キュレーター／批評家。美術評論家連盟（AICA Japan）会長。「対話 と創造の森」アーティスティックディレクター。多摩美術大学・東京 造形大学客員教授、武蔵野美術大学・情報科学芸術大学院大学（IAMAS） ・國學院大学大学院非常勤講師。「情報フロー」というアプローチから諸領域を横断する活動を展開。1990年代よりキヤノン・アート ラボ（1990–2001）、森美術館（2002–04）、NTTインターコミュニケーション・センター［ICC］（2004–10）と並行し、インディペンデントで先進的な展覧会やプロジェクトを多く実現。近年の仕事に札幌国際 芸術祭2014（アソシエイトキュレーター）、茨城県北芸術祭2016（キュレーター）など。2020年の仕事に美術評論家連盟2020シンポジウム（実行委員長）、MMFS2020（ディレクター）、「Forking PiraGene」（共 同キュレーター、C-Lab台北）、2021年にフォーラム「想像力としての ＜資本＞」（企画＆モデレーション、京都府）、フォーラム「精神としてのエネルギー｜石・水・森・人」（企画＆モデレーション、一社ダイア ローグプレイス）など。国内外の審査員を歴任。共著多数。2023年に 単著『エコゾフィック・アート 自然・精神・社会をつなぐアート論』 を刊行。2021 年よりHILLS LIFE（Web）に「Ecosophic Future」を 連載中。

Japanese artist MIHARA Soichiro and curator SHIKATA Yukiko will participate in residency program in Italy. Mihara will stay for about one month and Shikata will stay for about two weeks, focusing on research on the energy of the land, and will participate in the liminaria festival to be held from July 24 to 30, 2022.

MIHARA Soichiro recently work in smell related with wind or flow of air too. In the residency in Italy, he will research about wheat in harvest season there. In addition, with his artwork “study of air”, he will conduct presentation in each place he will stay.

  • MIHARA Soichiro

    Mihara was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1980. Based in Kyoto. He creates open systems engaged with the world that employ a wide range of materials and phenomena such as acoustics, foams, radiation, rainbows, microbes, moss, air streams, soil, humidity and electrons in order to reinterpret them as art. Since 2011, he has been involved in the Blank Project, which examines the relationship between technology and society, both in Japan and overseas. Since 2013, he has been participating in a series of artist-in-residencies in 18 locations in 9 countries, from the Arctic Circle to tropical rainforests, from military borders to bio-art labs, from the center of art to extreme environments. He has won awards including at Ars Electronica, Transmediale, and the Japan Media Arts Festival, and was on the jury of the Prix Ars Electronica in 2019. Since 2022, he has co-organized the event “Ride the Waves on March 11th”. In recent years, he has also been involved in conservation and restoration of sound art and media art for which methodologies have not yet been established.

  • SHIKATA Yukiko

    Curator/critic based in Tokyo. Artistic Director of“ Forest for Dialogue and Creativity”, President of“ AICA (International Association of Art Critics) Japan”. Visiting professor at Tama Art University and Tokyo Zokei University, lecturer at Musashino Art University and Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) and the Postgraduate School of Kokugakuin University. Her activities traverse existing fields by focusing on“ Information flows”. In parallel, working as a curator of Cannon ARTLAB (1990– 2001), Mori Art Museum (2002–2004), senior curator of NTT Inter Communication Center [ICC] (2004–010), as an independent curator, realized many experimental exhibitions and projects. Recents works include SIAF 2014 (Associate Curator), KENPOKU ART 2016 (Curator). Works in 2020 including the Symposium of AICA Japan (Chairperson), MMFS 2020 (Director)“, Forking PiraGene” (Co-curator, C-Lab Taipei). Works in 2021 including the Forum “Information as a form of ” (Kyoto Prefecture), Forum “Spirits as Energy | Stone, Water, Forest and Human” (General Incorporated Association Dialogue Place). Juror of many international competitions, many co-publications. The first solo publication“ Ecosophic Art” (2023). Essay series“ Ecosophic Future”at HILLS LIFE (2021–).
