Wood curving workshop by the artist SUZUKI Motomasa was held on February 5th.

The participants choose one picture from the books at ACAC’s lecture room, and make the sculpture by the picture.

First, looked for the books.

彫刻の写真を選ぶ人、神社や仏像を選ぶ人、画集の鳥を選ぶ人、、、奈良美智さんの彫刻を選ぶ中学生も2人いました。やはり青森県立美術館で見ているので馴染みがあるのでしょうか。

One choose the photo of the sculpture, one choose the picture of Budha statue, one choose the bird painting… 2 participants choose NARA Yoshitomo’s work.

After decided the picture, drew the outline on the wood.

The wood was 60×60×105mm.

Then cut the outside roughly.

After they got the shape roughly, they could curve the wood faster.

 

4 participants could finish painting the color, and the others couldn’t finish the curving.

We hope they will continue the works at their school or home and finish them.
