FURUSAKA Haruka talk
FURUSAKA Haruka’s talk event was held in 18th June which is the last day of the exhibition “Lore of the Land”
She talked about what she thought and tried to construct the exhibition, about Sami people, their life and the crafts, and about the research in Aomori.
Furusaka Haruka visited the studio of MURAKAMI Asako who is an artist of “Tsugaru Sakiori” (Aomori weaving)
FURUSAKA Haruka workshop 2nd 3rd day
Furusaka haruka’s 2nd and 3rd workshop was held on 20, 21 May.
This workshop is held in 3 days total and 1st day was held in 3rd May.
The participants went to the mountain with the special guide Mr. Yamagami on the first day, also took the edible wild plants.
From the experience of the first day and the interview of Mr.Yamagami, the participants woodblock on 2nd and 3rd day.
First, they discussded about what they hear from Mr. Yamagami.
Write down the words on the board.
The woodblock is composed with the words and the picture, then they will become a newspaper.
The participants curved on the 2nd day.
Then, printed on the 3rd day with some colors.
After printing, paste on the big paper and made them newspaper.
You can see one newspaper at ACAC’s lounge.
FURUSAKA Haruka workshop 1st day
The first day of the FURUSAKA Haruka’s workshop was held on 3rd May.
This workshop is to walk around the mountain with the talk by the special guide, then make woodblock.
First, the participants appreciate Furusaka’s work.
Then, start walking.
The special guest is Mr. Yamagami who owns “Hotel Yamagami” near Aomori station.
You can eat them but not so delicious.
Write down what Mr. Yamagami says.

ACAC’s volunteer organization “AIRS” helped to cook.
After cooking and eating, interview with Mr. Yamagami.
Then think about the theme or composition of the woodblock.
The participants will make woodblock on 20 and 21 May.
FURUSAKA Haruka started the residency
FURUSAKA Haruka started the residency and to prepare for Aomori City Archives Exhibition with FURUSAKA Haruka “Lore of the Land” (Apr 29 – June 18).
She is curving the wood with nice wood smell in the studio today.
